For many on the left, the world of physical training and intentional
wellness couldn’t be further from consciousness. We have a tendency to consider the care of our own bodies as being of far lesser importance than the immediate needs of survival. This is a mistake. Our bodies are not only the vesselsof our struggle, they are the ever- present vehicles of our existence.

capitalist ideal, which has only ever been accessible to the very few.

The legacy of David Bowie amounts to roughly 450 songs, which he recorded or performed over half a century. They range from cabaret to psychedelia tofolk rock to glam rock to Philadelphia soul, from avant- garde instrumentals to stadium anthems. Cataloging Bowie’s songs from the dawn of his career in 1963 to his Hollywood stardom in 1975, examining them in the order of their composition and recording, and digging into what makes them work, Rebel Rebel and its sequel Ashes to Ashes have become standard references for
Bowie fans.
